Pete Aguilar Statement on Women’s Equality Day

August 26, 2014

San Bernardino, CA – Today, in honor of Women’s Equality Day, Redlands Mayor Pete Aguilar, Democratic candidate for Congress in California’s 31st district, released the following statement:

“On Women’s Equality Day we commemorate the historic 19th Amendment that gave women in the United States the right to vote, a momentous step forward in the fight towards full equality,” Aguilar said.

“However, women today still only earn 77 cents for every dollar a man earns, and too many women making the minimum wage are struggling to make ends meet. Let’s keep our commitment to women by passing equal pay legislation, raising the minimum wage for hardworking families and continuing the fight to protect women’s healthcare choices.”
