Pete Aguilar Receives Backing of Leading Environmental Group

(San Bernardino, CA) – Pete Aguilar, a Democratic candidate for Congress in California’s 31st district, has received the endorsement of the California League of Conservation Voters (CLCV) his campaign announced today.

In making its endorsement, CLCV Political Director David Allgood said, “California League of Conservation Voters is pleased to endorse Pete Aguilar for Congress because of his solid record and deep commitment to creating sustainable communities and protecting our environment for future generations.”

California League of Conservation Voters is the non-partisan political action arm of California’s environmental movement and one of the premier environmental organizations in California.

Commenting on CLCV’s backing, Pete Aguilar said, “I am deeply committed to sound environmental policies like increasing the use of renewable energy and addressing climate change. I’m grateful for the support of the California League of Conservation Voters and hope to partner with them as a member of Congress.”

As Redlands Mayor, Aguilar has been a champion for sustainable development and bringing public attention to the consequences of climate change.

Aguilar supported efforts in Redlands to promote greater energy efficiency and conservation, including green building and climate-friendly purchasing practices. He also helped draw attention to the need for increased investments in renewable energy to reduce carbon emissions in the region, and is a leading advocate for a new passenger rail line in San Bernardino County to reduce heavy traffic and pollution.
