Pete Aguilar Raises $301,000 in Second Quarter

Says Desire for New Leadership in Congress is Strong

(Redlands, CA) – Pete Aguilar, Mayor of Redlands and a candidate for Congress in California’s 31st district, raised $301,000 in the second quarter of 2013 with $289,000 cash on hand, his campaign announced today.

Of the total donations received, 75 percent came from individuals donating $100 or less – a sign of strong grassroots support for Aguilar.

“I am very humbled by the outpouring of early support from people throughout San Bernardino County,” Pete Aguilar said.

“The message to me has been clear. People are fed up with business as usual in Washington and want a new leader in Congress who will put middle-class families above partisan politics,” he added.

In addition to his second quarter fundraising numbers, last month Aguilar announced endorsements from a dozen Democratic members of Congress from California.

As Mayor of Redlands, Aguilar has forged commonsense solutions that have improved the city’s economy, created jobs and strengthened vital services that businesses and residents rely on.

He worked to balance the city budget, turning its multi-million dollar deficit into a surplus and improving the city’s credit rating. Aguilar also led efforts to make Redlands more attractive to businesses and to invest in San Bernardino County’s infrastructure.
