Pete Aguilar Endorsed By San Bernardino and Riverside Counties Central Labor Council, AFL-CIO
(San Bernardino, CA) – The Central Labor Council, AFL-CIO of San Bernardino and Riverside Counties voted unanimously to endorse Pete Aguilar’s bid for Congress in California’s 31st Congressional district, the Aguilar campaign announced today.
“Pete Aguilar is a leader who understands the importance of protecting and creating good jobs. Our members support his campaign because we know that he will fight for the interests of working families in Congress,” said Laurie Stalnaker, Executive Secretary-Treasurer of the San Bernardino and Riverside Counties Central Labor Council, AFL-CIO.
With more than 289,000 union workers, the Central Labor Council of San Bernardino and Riverside Counties is the AFL-CIO affiliate for the Inland Empire, the umbrella organization representing local unions and their members.
“Pete has a proven track record of making the types of investments that are helping middle-class families. That’s the kind of leadership our region needs in Washington,” said Bill Perez, Executive Secretary of the San Bernardino-Riverside Counties Building and Construction Trades Council.
“I am very grateful to have the support of the Central Labor Council and Building Trades Council for my campaign to create jobs and help energize the Inland Empire’s economy,” Pete Aguilar said.
The San Bernardino-Riverside Counties Central Labor Council endorsement is the first high profile endorsement of 2014, and comes on the heels of a slew of major endorsements the Aguilar campaign announced in 2013. The complete endorsement list is available HERE.
Pete Aguilar is a small business owner and Mayor of Redlands. He is a strong advocate for economic growth and fairness in the Inland Empire, a leader who has reached across party lines to serve the best interests of middle-class families.
As Redlands Mayor, Pete has forged commonsense solutions that have improved the City’s economy, created jobs and strengthened vital services.
Pete worked to balance the city budget, turning its multi-million dollar deficit into a surplus and improving the city’s credit rating. Pete also led efforts to make Redlands more attractive to businesses and to invest in San Bernardino County’s infrastructure.
