Pete Aguilar Endorsed By Leading Medicare and Social Security Advocacy Group

San Bernardino, Calif. – Redlands Mayor Pete Aguilar, Democratic candidate for Congress in California’s 31st district, received the endorsement of the National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare, his campaign announced today.

Reacting to the endorsement, Aguilar said, “Medicare and Social Security are vital to the health and welfare of older Americans in San Bernardino County and throughout the country.  I’m proud that my commitment to never allow cuts to Medicare and Social Security benefits has enabled me to earn this endorsement and keep our promise to protect America’s seniors.”

Since 1982, the National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare has been working to protect and preserve the financial security, health, and the well-being of current and future seniors.

In a letter sent to Aguilar announcing their support, Max Richtman, President and CEO of the National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare, wrote, “Our nation needs your leadership, vision and determination to fight for working families and older Americans. You earned the endorsement of the National Committee because you understand and support the critical roles that Social Security and Medicare play in the retirement and health security of our nation’s older citizens and their families.”

Pete Aguilar is a small business owner and Mayor of Redlands. He is a strong advocate for economic growth and fairness in the Inland Empire, a leader who has reached across party lines to serve the best interests of middle-class families in San Bernardino County.
