Pete Aguilar Backed By Council for a Livable World’s PeacePAC

Group Identifies Most Competitive Progressive Candidates

(San Bernardino, CA) — Council for a Livable World’s PeacePAC has endorsed Redlands Mayor Pete Aguilar for Congress in California’s 31st district, the Aguilar campaign announced today.

“PeacePAC is proud to endorse Mayor Aguilar given his forward thinking positions on national security issues that will make America more secure,” said Guy Stevens, director of PeacePAC. “Mayor Aguilar will be a great champion for the people of California and policies that enhance U.S. and global security once in Congress.”

PeacePAC, founded in 1981 by Roman Catholic priest Father Robert F. Drinan, identifies the most competitive progressive House candidates. It puts them through a rigorous selection process, rallies financial and political support for its endorsees and keeps them informed on arms control and other national security issues once elected.

“I’m honored to have the support of an organization that has been such a progressive and pragmatic voice on national security issues, and I look forward to working with them as a member of Congress,” Pete Aguilar said.

Today’s endorsement follows the backing of Aguilar last week by Americans for the Protection of Children, which supports efforts to prevent gun violence, including universal background checks. Aguilar also has the support of Senator Dianne Feinstein, the California Democratic Party, and leading labor, public safety and environmental organizations.
