Aguilar Defeats Chabot, Re-elected to Second Term

Pledges to continue working to “build an economy that’s fairer for everyone”

(San Bernardino, CA) –¬†Tonight, Congressman Pete Aguilar was re-elected to the U.S. House of Representatives, securing a comfortable victory over his opponent, Paul Chabot, who lost to Aguilar in 2014. Congressman Aguilar released the following statement:

“I’m honored that San Bernardino County residents have chosen me to continue representing them in Congress, but this victory is not about me.¬†It’s about the people of the Inland Empire, who wake up every day ready to work hard and reach for the American Dream.¬†I plan to do my part by working every day to build an economy that’s fairer for everyone, supports small businesses, and protect veterans, students and seniors.”

“There are so many¬†people to thank: my family, my staff, and the many volunteers who worked around the clock but who often don’t get the credit they deserve. This team believes, like I do, that a commitment to strengthening our middle class and creating good-paying jobs are the keys to invigorating our local¬†economy and making the Inland Empire a better place to live.”

“I’m truly grateful for the continued trust and support. Together, we will keep building on the progress we’ve already made and secure a better future for our Inland Empire community.”
